About the Director

Director/Producer Goro Toshima has been involved with media production for over 10 years. He began his career producing short news pieces on American culture for the Japanese network NHK. After completing a masters degree program in documentary film at Stanford University, he worked as an assistant editor on a variety of independent projects. A Hard Straight is his first feature length documentary.
